Wolfskuil Records is proud to announce the addition of a reknowned international techno producer to it's artistroster. Paul Brtschitsch from Berlin, Germany, has been delivering wonderfull tunes to the world since 1996. His strength is defined by a timeless understanding of music and a distinct accuracy regarding arrangements as well as exploring new sounds.
Releases such as 'Schneesturm' on Plus 8 and 'Rundfahrt' and 'Bordell' on his own Taksi imprint (established with techno jock Andre Galuzzi) are considered classic 90's techno. In the beginning of the millenium he changed focus for a few years from techno to triphop and pop, only to return with a vengeance early 2006 with the succesfull single 'Twirl' on the allready legendary Berghain imprint Ostgut Ton. Recently he started his own Rootknox label and co-produced Anja Schneider's debut album 'Beyond The Valley'. No doubt Paul's music is a force to be reconned with!
The 2 tracks wich put together form the 14th release on Wolfskuil are examplary for Paul's warm and accessible sound and eye for subtile details. The funky bassline in 'Parkett' turns out to be highly addictive when dropped on the floor, nicely flourished with hints of melody. The drumprogramming is extremely accurate and versatile, revealing that a lot of effort has been put into this piece of music. 'Bellaphonica' on the flipside is a deep, dubby and psychedelic excursion into the realms of techno. It reminds of Paul's early work on Frisbee and Taksi, but undoubtably interpreted from a fresh 2008 angle. The title 'Bridge Itch' is a comic reveral to the fact that most people find his last name unpronouncable. Hopefully this will help MC's and radio jocks in the future.
