    Hailing from Athens, Georgia, Casper & the Cookies have been hard at work
    creating their own peculiar brand of power pop since the late æ90s. They
    tirelessly test new waters in their songwriting and sonic pallet. Jason
    NeSmith (aka Casper Fandango, ex- Of Montreal) shares writing and recording
    duties with Kay Stanton. Drummer Davy Gibbs and a rotating cast of unsavory
    characters round out the lineup.
    Casper & the Cookies released their first full-length album in 2003, Oh! on
    Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records. Oh! was also picked up by Waikiki Record
    in Tokyo. Their latest album, The OptimistÆs Club is due out in May 2006.
    During the interim, the Cookies recorded a tour-only EP, The Band That
    Shouted Love at the Heart of the World, and tracks for the Happy Happy
    Birthday to Me Vol. 3 compilation and the 9th Annual Athfest CD.
    Having toured the Midwest, East Coast (2004-2005), and Japan (2005), and
    Casper & the Cookies will do an extensive nationwide tour for the release of
    The OptimistÆs Club in Fall 2006. A Cookies show is a constantly evolving
    happening. Good solid playing is matched with a high energy, sometimes
    slightly dangerous stage show where anything can happen. Casper & the Cookies
    have shared the stage with Pylon, The Rosebuds, Of Montreal, Elekibass, The
    Essex Green, Marshmallow Coast, Dressy Bessy, and Elf Power.

 alasdair roberts has brought a sack of assorted goods for you
 merchants, eight epic new songs' 'spoils'. alasdair roberts is
 one of scotland's best young singers and songwriters, and as
 the years pass, his artistry borrows more and more from
 centuries before. on his fourth solo album, alasdair brings
 with him a crew working with ancient instruments while

 ªª▓   After a period of great turmoil and change, Unto Ashes delivers a new CD which can only be     ▓ªª
 ªª▓   described as a dark-folk masterpiece: this is an album of thirteen spells conjured for the     ▓ªª
 ªª▓   Lady, who is everywhere and nowhere. The Blood of My Lady is undoubtedly the most intimate     ▓ªª
 ªª▓   Unto Ashes CD created hitherto. Whereas Unto Ashes founder and producer Michael Laird wrote    ▓ªª
 ªª▓   and recorded the album in almost complete isolation, the CD has been blessed by a number of    ▓ªª
 ªª▓   stunning musical contributions by Kim Larsen from :Of the Wand and the Moon: (Denmark), and    ▓ªª
 ªª▓   Sonne Hagal (Germany). The new album is distinguished from its predecessors by the fact that   ▓ªª
 ªª▓   all of the lead vocalists are male (Laird, Larsen, Sonne Hagal, Gregory Palmer); the           ▓ªª
 ªª▓   listener is further enchanted by superb backing vocals courtesy of soprano Josie Smith (a      ▓ªª
 ªª▓   capella virtuoso).                                                                             ▓ªª

 ªª▓   Following a very successful 2006 European Tour opening for Germany's darkwave / neo-Medieval   ▓ªª
 ªª▓   gods Qntal, two former members of Unto Ashes emigrated to Germany, where they are now          ▓ªª
 ªª▓   recording with members of Estampie and Helium Vola.                                            ▓ªª

 ªª▓   Thus, The Blood of My Lady  was painfully conceived and wrought in considerable upheaval       ▓ªª
 ªª▓   (emotional and otherwise). In late 2007, Laird moved from New York City to a large Victorian   ▓ªª
 ªª▓   house in the countryside. In long durations of silence, punctuated by the sounds of birds      ▓ªª
 ªª▓   and wind, the songs formed and began to grow on their own accord.                              ▓ªª

 ªª▓   As would befit the rustic environment of Laird's new home, The Blood of My Lady  was           ▓ªª

 ªª▓   entirely on cello; this song was written in the ninth century (!) by Kassia, of                ▓ªª
