Les groupes qui encombrent l'actualitΘ, dans un
turnover de plus en plus rapide (dΘjα un revival
shoegazing se prΘpare...), accouchent sans surprise
d'un deuxiΦme disque (quand il existe) au mieux
dΘcevant. Au contraire, aprΦs avoir bien aimΘ le
premier Lp des Cornflakes Heroes ("Off with your
heads !", 2006), on Θcoute le second avec encore
plus de plaisir - c'est comme retrouver dans sa
classe un redoublant sympa.
Le groupe n'a rien perdu de sa fraεcheur : la
dΘgaεne est toujours relΓchΘe mais stylΘe, entre
Pavement et nos locaux Coming Soon, surtout quand
les Caennais abordent un registre folk-western ("Is
mother right ?", "Baby honey" et son ukulΘlΘ chipΘ
aux grands frΦres Herman Dⁿne). "Bloody Valentine"
est efficace comme du Nada Surf ("Popular") sur un
rythme afro-beat (grosse tendance dans la pop en ce
moment, les influences africaines). "Let me be your
tamagotchi", avec trompette et guitare en roue
libre α l'unisson, c'est pour cartonner au Japon
comme Tahiti 80 ? L'ambiance se tend et s'assombrit
parfois ("Pow !", "Dig a hole"), mais toujours avec
un fond de bonne humeur, par exemple ce charmant et
enlevΘ "Good morning naked city" dont le clin
d'oeil au Velvet Underground suffit α faire passer
